Giant-Sweeps® has quickly grown into one of the biggest online sweepstakes sites, awarding cash prizes to well over 3,000 winners and counting since we first launched in June 2013. Unfortunately, like a lot of other top sites, our success has also attracted the attention of some unscrupulous actors who falsely claim to be from Giant-Sweeps and send fraudulent notifications telling people they've won money and sometimes asking people to send them money in order to release prizes.
The Giant-Sweeps® member care team constantly monitors inquiries to our Contact Us forum, our Facebook page and even third party sites to identify these false claims and wherever possible reach out to law enforcement agencies to prosecute the offenders.
In order to better protect our members, we would like to provide the following guidelines to help you identify genuine Giant-Sweeps notifications and some things you can do if you believe someone is trying rip you off.
The following are a list of the most common types of inquiries we receive from user who believe they may have won a prize.
Giant-Sweeps® will NEVER call to notify you that you won a prize. In fact, unless you call us first, leave a message with your phone number and ask us to call you back, Giant-Sweeps® will never call you for any reason whatsoever. All Giant-Sweeps® winners are notified exclusively by email.
If you do receive a call from someone claiming to represent Giant-Sweeps®, ask them for a phone number where you can call them back and write it down. Then simply email us at [email protected] and we will do our best to contact them directly or forward the information on to the appropriate authorities to pursue them legally.
Under NO circumstances should you ever provide any personal information such as your bank account, credit card or social security number to someone you don't know over the phone or via email. Again, Giant-Sweeps is totally free and we will never ask you for any of this information.
Giant-Sweeps will NEVER text you to notify you that you won a prize. If you also receive email messages on your phone, you can tell the difference as the email will come an email address with a domain such as [email protected], while a text message will come from a specific phone number or a shorter list of numbers called a short code. If you receive a text message from anyone claiming to be from Giant-Sweeps®, please take down the number they used to reach you, whether it is a full phone number including area code or just a short code, and email it to us at [email protected]. We will do our best to investigate the matter further.
As a general safety tip, if you ever receive a text message from someone you don't recognize, you can reply with the words STOP. Any legitimate company will honor this as a request to be removed from any text related mailing lists. In addition, if you click the "Details" option located to the top right hand side of the screen with the text message and then the information button located next to the call option on this person's number, you can also elect to block this number from calling you in the future by choosing the "Block this Caller" option that appears on the next screen.
While we do reply to messages you submit to us, Giant-Sweeps® will NEVER initiate contact with you directly on Facebook either by posting on your wall or sending you an instant message.
If you receive a message from anyone claiming to be from Giant-Sweeps® on Facebook, you can report them to Facebook by going to their page and in the right hand corner next to the Message, icon, click the three dots and go to "Report" in the drop down menu. by sending you a message or posting on your wall and claims to be from Giant-Sweeps®, please go to https://www.facebook.com/GiantSweeps and submit a message letting us know the name of the person that contacted you. We will report the user and notify Facebook that someone is trying to impersonate us.
The easiest way to see if you're a winner is to open it and look at the sender or "from" line of the email. If it comes from the email address [email protected], with a subject line that says "You Have Won $XXX.00 from Giant-Sweeps", it means that you are indeed a winner. The email will not contain any links. It will instruct you to reply to confirm that you received it and may ask you for additional information.
However, we also send out other emails reminding you to play and informing you of prizes that you are eligible to win. These will come from the email address [email protected]. They will contain a unique link that allows you to enter the Giant-Sweeps site without having to submit your password. Sometimes we announce special bonus prizes in these emails as a reward for our most loyal members.
First, it is important to remember that receipt of these emails does not mean that you are a winner. Rather it means that you were in the pool from which the winner or winners were selected. Here's how they work.
Prior to release of the email, a user ID is randomly selected from the list of all eligible Giant-Sweeps® members to be a Qualifying Entrant for the giveaway. If that member plays on the date(s) outlined in the Official Rules, they will automatically be declared a winner. Sometimes to improve the odds of winning, we might put users into smaller pools based on information we have on file such as your birthday, the state you live in or even your initials. For example, if your birthday were January 1st, you may receive an email that states someone born on January 1st will definitely be a winner, which means we picked one user from all the Giant-Sweeps members born on January 1st. Your odds of winning are definitely better but you would still need to be the user we selected at random and play on that date.
If you received an email and still aren't sure if it means you are a winner, you can forward it to us at [email protected] and we'll be happy to look in to it further for you.
If you type "Giant-Sweeps" into Google or another search listing, you may see results with headlines such as "Is Giant-Sweeps a scam" or "Giant-Sweeps complaints". At Giant-Sweeps® we strive to be as transparent as possible and genuinely appreciate constructive suggestions on ways to improve the site and make our giveaways clearer. In addition, we believe independent review sites can play an important role in ensuring sites are held accountable.
However, there are sites that, in our opinion, exist primarily to seek out negative reviews for brand names rather than offering an objective platform for consumer opinions. You can usually tell the sites that are geared toward negative reviews by their names such as PissedConsumer or LottoExposed. While we do monitor our listings on these sites as we want to make every effort to address legitimate user concerns, generally speaking we refrain from posting directly so as to avoid providing additional benefit to these sites.
Rather, we would prefer you direct any questions or concerns you have directly on our own forum where we will do our best to reply as quickly as possible.

There are two ways to unsubscribe from Giant-Sweeps emails. The first is to click on the unsubscribe link in the email you received, usually located just below the message toward the bottom of the email. You will be taken to the URL below where you simply type the email address you wish to be unsubscribed and click submit. If you no longer have the email from us, you can click the link here: http://sweepstakes.GiantSweeps.com/GiantSweeps-unsubscribe/
In addition, you can also send an email to [email protected] and we will manually add you to our unsubscribe list.
Although in the United States, the CAN SPAM Act provides up to 10 days to process unsubscribe requests, we will do our best to expedite your removal from our mailing list as quickly as possible.
Please know that you do not have to receive emails in order to be eligible to win, and receiving emails does not improve your chances of winning a prize on Giant-Sweeps. Also, even if you unsubscribe from our regular mailings, you can still receive "Forgot Password" emails and we will still contact you via email if you are a winner as these are considered "transactional emails" triggered by an action on your part.
